This 300/500V screened fire resistant cable uses mica glass tape, silicone rubber insulation and an LSZH sheath. It is intended for fixed wiring in building fire detection, fire alarm and emergency lighting circuits where this construction and verified fire performance are specified.
Select the core arrangement to suit the circuit: 2, 3 or 4 insulated cores with a full-size uninsulated tinned copper CPC; or 7, 12 or 19 insulated cores with a drain wire. For voice alarm and emergency communication circuits, confirm electrical requirements and system compatibility before selection.
For commercial buildings, public facilities and transport projects, match the cable to the installation conditions, project specification and applicable test evidence.
300/500V rated voltage with Class 1 or Class 2 copper conductors.
Mica glass tape fire barrier and silicone rubber insulation, type EI 2.
Metallic or laminated metallic tape screen in contact with the CPC or drain wire.
LSZH sheath, type LTS 3; sheath colours available upon request.
2, 3, 4, 7, 12 and 19 core options are listed in the construction table.

Fire performance: confirm the required test standard, cable size and core arrangement against supporting test reports. The original table includes a PH120 designation. Obtain applicable evidence before specifying this class or any fire survival duration.
CPC and drain wire: the 2, 3 and 4 core constructions include a CPC of the same section and class as the insulated conductors. For 7, 12 and 19 cores, the colour-code table identifies a drain wire, while the construction table retains a CPC column heading. Confirm the wire function and protective-conductor requirements for the selected size.
Electrical design: the original current-rating data reference BS 7671:2008 table 4D2A, with a 70°C conductor temperature and 30°C ambient temperature. Check the installation method, grouping, ambient conditions and protective device. The displayed current and voltage-drop tables cover 2 to 4 core circuits; obtain suitable data for higher core counts.
Installation conditions: observe the stated bending radius and temperature limits. Confirm any required UV, oil, hydrocarbon, rodent or termite resistance when ordering these optional properties.
Enquiry details: provide the voltage, core count, conductor size, installation route, required fire-test evidence and quantity.
BS 7629-1 silicone rubber screened LSZH cable - a separate silicone rubber construction without the mica barrier listed on this page.
300/500V BS 7211 mica XLPE LSZH cable - 2 or 3 insulated cores with a bare copper CPC and XLPE insulation.
600/1000V BS 7846 mica XLPE armoured cable - a separate voltage class and armoured construction for project comparison.
These cable types have different constructions. Confirm the project specification before selecting an alternative.
Yes. The listed construction includes mica glass tape beneath the silicone rubber insulation. It is the mica plus silicone rubber version.
For the 2, 3 and 4 core versions, the count refers to insulated cores. The uninsulated tinned copper CPC is additional.
The colour-code table identifies insulated numbered or colour-identified cores plus an uninsulated drain wire. Confirm the drain-wire and earthing arrangement for the selected cable.
The standards list alone does not establish every fire classification. Request the applicable test reports and confirm their scope for the proposed cable before specifying a PH class or fire survival duration.
The displayed tables identify 2, 3 and 4 core circuits. Do not extend those values to 7, 12 or 19 core circuits without suitable design data.
